Challenge
Texas A&M Engineering has the largest industrial distribution program in the U.S. for conducting applied research and offering professional development. It is respected as one of the best programs in the nation, resulting in significant enrollment growth in the past few years. Yet their education and training facilities did not reflect this level of prestige. The program needed a new, large modern facility to support its growth, and provide the high level of education its students deserved.
Solution
We designed the new two-story building to encourage the integration of instruction and research central to the program. Upon entering the building, visitors can see a wide range of teaching and collaboration areas on both levels. The large lobby and waterfall stair are strategically positioned to promote interaction. The first floor features the only distribution-focused research center in the world, a global supply chain laboratory, and other labs. On the second floor, talent incubator space serves a haven for students to collaborate with faculty and industry partners as the develop capstone projects to solve real-world challenges.
